Ideal Alignment

Even if our spine is in alignment, it doesn’t mean our muscles are balanced. Due to most activities being in front of us, our muscle shorten in front and lengthen in back. Muscles in our back could be overstretched or too long causing weakness. Our bodies adjust to these new positions and sense them as being normal.

Muscle Imbalance

You can test your posture by standing straight against the wall with head, mid-back and bottom resting on the wall with your feet a few inches away. How does this position feel? Once assessed, step away from the wall and try to maintain the same posture.
